POSITION - RANCH HAND

 

RANCH HAND REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 16 years of age or older. 

  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work. 

  • At least 1 year of Horse experience.

  • Good customer service skills. 

  • Good communication skills. 

  • Willing to work on weekends and some holidays. 

  • Good work ethics. 

RANCH HAND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Feed/Water horses and animals.

  • Cleaning of horse stalls and animal pens.

  • Grooming and saddling horses. 

  • Taking out groups for trail rides.

  • Pony Rides for children.

  • Help teach groups the basics of horse care and riding. 

  • Help set up for events/weddings/parties.

  • Other ranch tasks. 

WORK HOURS

  • January - February - March

    • 2 -to- 4 Hour Shifts

    • 2 -to- 3 Days A Week

  • April - May

    • 4 -to- 8 Hour Shifts

    • 3 -to- 4 Days A Week

  • June - July - August - September - October

    • 6 -to- 10 Hour Shifts

    • 3 -to- 6 Days A Week

  • November - December

    • 2 -to 4 Hour Shifts

    • 2 -to- 3 Days A Week

POSITION - BARN MANAGER

 

BARN MANAGER POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 20 years of age or older. 

  • Must have their own reliable transportation to and from work. 

  • Willing to work on weekends and some holidays. 

  • At least 5 years of Horse Experience.

  • Good customer service skills. 

  • Good communication skills. 

  • Able to lead and delicate every day work tasks to other employees. 

BARN MANAGER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Overall care of horses and animals. 

  • Overall care of the horse barn and animal pens. 

  • Overseeing and assigning staff members tasks/chores for the day. 

  • Keeping track of the horses-

    • Grain, hay, supplements, medication, shoes/trims, and vet appointments.

  • Making appointments for horses that need-

    • Teeth Float

    • Shoes/Trim 

  • Training new staff.

  • Guiding trail rides

  • Teaching horse care to groups.

  • Other ranch tasks.

WORK HOURS THAT ARE REQUIRED

  • November - December - January - February - March

    • 4 Days A Week

    • 2 -to- 5 Hours Per Day

  • April - May

    • 4 -to- 5 Days A Week

    • 5 -to- 8 Hours Per Day

  • June - July - August - September - October

    • 5 Days A Week

    • 7 -to- 12 Hours Per Day
